It's not how you arrived at the title, but what you do with it.

Speaker 1:

Hey ladies, welcome to Single Moms United podcast. I am so happy to be bringing you another episode of Single Moms United, a podcast that's designed to encourage and motivate single moms and to hopefully help you think about some things as you're raising your children on your own. Again, I am a single mom of two and I'm an older single mom, so I've been there, done that and, as they say, I have the t-shirt right. So I've learned some things along the way, and so, again, I'm just trying to pay it forward to you single moms, not that you're not going to encounter some things, but to invite you to think about some things you're going to experience as a single mom, because it's not easy. The burden is on your shoulders. They were on my shoulders and I say were, because my kids are grown and flew to coop so I have an empty nest. But anyway, that burden of trying to do it on your own, find the money and budget and all of that good stuff, and, as a result of that, a lot of us single moms, we go through some mental anguish, right? We second guess ourselves Did we make the right decisions? I know I did. It's a lot of mental stress associated with being a single mom Today.

Speaker 1:

As I mentioned in the past, I do enjoy writing poetry. I think this poem will be applicable to anybody that listens to it, whether you're here in the US or across the world. I hope you find some value in this poem. Now, don't talk about me too bad. Okay, I am a beginner. This is all about encouraging you your role as a single mom and how to deal with day-to-day stress that comes upon you. Now, this is not a one-size-fits-all, but hopefully you'll find some value and say you know what I like that poem and let me go back and play it again. And, matter of fact, I know another single mom who's stressed out and if it helped me, then maybe it'll help her too. Right, and also, I invite you to visit my website, single moms united podcast dot com. I know that's a long one, but I encourage you to go there. There's many. There's what? 77 different episodes where you may find some value in some of my older episodes. Again, don't beat me up, I'm self-taught. Bear with me if I'm. My grammar isn't what it needs to be. I missed some edits while I was cleaning some things up, so just be patient with me, okay. So here we go. All right.

Speaker 1:

So it's important to protect your mental health. Believe it or not, it is the new wealth. Mental wellness is a choice. You can choose peace or anxiety. It's all about how you deal with society.

Speaker 1:

Start your day off right and a positive life. In order to accomplish this feat, turn your head when bad things are being said. Minimize your time on social media to avoid gossip and untruth, because it really isn't benefiting you. Who cares what he or she said? It's all about looking ahead. Yesterday is gone. Today is the present, so retrain your mind not to borrow from tomorrow. Go ahead and grin. There will be positive results in the end.

Speaker 1:

If you are stressed out because you are waiting on a relationship, Don't quit. If you stay true to you, the right man will come along. Just stay strong. Patience is everything when it comes to dating. Don't rush a relationship. That really is only a crush. Anything meant to be will come naturally.

Speaker 1:

Pampering yourself also promotes great health, so go get spoiled by using those essential oils. Whether using the oils in a bath or diffuser, it's certain to invite you to become a repeat user. Your skin is your friend. Give it the best treatment you can. Now here is the good news your life really isn't that bad. Just consider what you have. If your child or children is healthy and knows right from wrong. You already know you have come along. You will realize every test will push you to be your best. Your mind is your personal growth garden. This is why you can't give past people a pardon. Make sure you have hope in your scope. Now you are the boss, so protect your peace and your mind at all costs. Some things you have to conceal in order to build. Your mental health doesn't have to deteriorate days. You will need to sit in silence to help deter this mental anguish of a world filled with so much violence. Learn how not to complain. This is a significant step in mental gain.

Speaker 1:

It's okay to embrace the stressful challenges. It helps with mental balance. When you know stress is on the way, you can't help but say okay, now you are mentally prepared for the stress, whether in here or out there. Stress is normal and meant to be, but how you handle it determines your mental health victory. There will be times you have to take a step forward, then back, but sometimes you have to take a step back, but don't let it diminish your vision for an ultimate finish.

Speaker 1:

All right, ladies, there you go my mental health poem written just for you. It's difficult out here. It's a challenge. You're going to have those rough days, but I promise you, I promise you you'll get through it. How do I know? Been there, done that. I promise you, I've been there and I've done that and I've gotten through it. And I'm grinning from ear to ear.

Speaker 1:

And when I sit and think about those days when my kids were younger and those challenges and the stress, the money, no money, money, no money. I did it. How did I do it? Number one, I believe I explained to you in the past I'm a Christian. So God got me through a lot. My faith got me through a lot of those times. God got me through a lot. My faith got me through a lot of those times, and for that I am grateful. All right, ladies, I hope, I hope, I hope and sincerely hope you appreciated this episode Again. If you did, hey, tap another single mom on the shoulder and say, hey, you might want to listen to this poem and I'll try to publish these in the future where you can have the transcript if you ever wanted to like, print it off and put it on your refrigerator or some kind of way that you can easily access it in writing versus hearing it verbally from me. Love to hear from you. Leave me some feedback. It's all about you, ladies. No-transcript.
